Soave - Corte Canella
The Soave DOC "Il 56" by Corte Canella is one of the most representative Veronese whites in the Emporio Divino selection — and one of the reasons why this small winery has become a reference point for those seeking authenticity and quality in the Veronese tradition. The same family that produces the great Amarone and the very rare Recioto "Vitefà" dedicates the same artisan care to their Soave — the white wine of Verona par excellence.
The name "Il 56" — almost certainly a reference to a specific vineyard parcel, a plot number or a family date deeply meaningful to Corte Canella — carries in two simple digits the entire territorial identity of this wine. Produced primarily from Garganega at 90% — the indigenous variety of the Soave — with 10% Trebbiano di Soave, and with an unusual 20 days of partial drying before vinification that adds a light concentration and aromatic depth rarely found in a base Soave at this price. Six months of stainless steel ageing on fine lees and 5 months in bottle complete a production journey that is far more ambitious than the €10.80 price might suggest.
On the nose it expresses delicate notes of white flowers, peach, almond and citrus. On the palate it is fresh and light, with a pleasant mineral sapidity and a clean, persistent finish. Best served cool between 10 and 12°C as an aperitivo or paired with fish dishes, shellfish and risottos. One of the most competitive wines in the catalogue for quality and price.
