Jankara

The path that led to the creation of this winery is similar to that of many other Sardinian businesses. Young people who emigrate abroad become successful, but their connection to their homeland is so strong that it drives them to return to achieve something significant. This is the story of Renato Spanu and Jankara, a winery founded in 2006. Its name, a portmanteau of the toponyms Jannaca and Karana, indicating the crus where his grandfather's vineyards were located, highlights the founder's pride in his origins. Today, the company boasts approximately 8 hectares of vineyards located on the hills of Alta Gallura, where the granite soil, the marked temperature range between day and night, and the presence of almost constant winds allow the grapes to reach significant levels of complexity and maturity.
