The Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG by Corte Canella completes the range of one of the most consistent and respected wineries in the Emporio Divino selection — the same estate that produces the guide-awarded Soave Classico and the rare Recioto "Le Sore". Seeing Corte Canella also produce a quality Amarone confirms a complete and ambitious production vision, capable of expressing the best of the Veronese tradition in all its forms.

Corte Canella is a small artisan estate that tends its vineyards on the calcareous-clay soils of the Valpolicella with an approach respectful of the territory and local production traditions. The Amarone is born from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes hand-harvested at full ripeness and dried in the traditional fruttaio for over 90 days — the minimum period required by the appellation, respected here with rigour and without commercial shortcuts. The weight loss of the grapes during appassimento exceeds 35%, naturally and progressively concentrating sugars, polyphenols and aromas.

Vinification takes place with long fermentations that extract the full potential of the dried grapes, and ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels provides structure and gradual oxygenation without overpowering the varietal aromas with new wood notes. The result is an Amarone of classic and territorial style — it does not seek extreme power or the modern boisé style, but rather the balance and authenticity that are the true signature of great artisan Amarone.

On the nose it is clean and well-defined: ripe cherry and morello jam, sour cherry, cacao, warm spice, tobacco, dried violet and a delicate balsamic note recalling the herbs of the Veronese hills. On the palate it is enveloping and well-balanced — present but already polished tannins, harmonious glyceric sweetness, a fresh acidity that provides vertical drive and a long, persistent finish with notes of concentrated red fruit, spice and minerality. An Amarone that does not need to impress with power: it speaks with elegance.
