Bolgheri - Superiore - Podere Ritorti - I Luoghi
The Bolgheri Superiore DOC Podere Ritorti by I Luoghi is born in one of Italy's most prestigious and celebrated wine territories: the Costa degli Etruschi in the province of Livorno, where in the 1970s Sassicaia revolutionised the wine world by proving that Bordeaux varieties could find an exceptional home in Tuscany.
I Luoghi is an artisan estate that works the Podere Ritorti with rigorous attention to quality: low yields per vine, manual harvest and strict selection of only the finest grapes. The blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a small component of Cabernet Franc, aged for 18 months in French oak barriques — long enough to integrate the wood seamlessly without overpowering the fruit and terroir expression.
On the nose it is elegant and complex: blackcurrant, cassis, ripe plum, graphite, tobacco, sweet spice and a hint of cedar and black pepper. On the palate it is full and structured, with dense but already well-polished tannins from oak ageing, a fresh acidity that gives lift and drive, and a long, persistent finish with notes of dark chocolate and mint. A wine that expresses its best between 3 and 8 years from the harvest, with outstanding ageing potential.
At this price, it represents one of the finest expressions of Bolgheri Superiore available on the market — and one of the standout Tuscan proposals in the Emporio Divino selection.
