The Falanghina del Sannio DOC Kissos by Cantine Tora is a white wine that tells two thousand years of Campanian wine history in a single sip. The name "Kissos" — ivy in ancient Greek — is an explicit homage to the Hellenic roots of this grape variety, brought to Campania by Greek colonists and kept alive through the centuries by the resilience of Sannio farmers, even when the modern wine industry had all but forgotten it.

Cantine Tora produces this Falanghina from vineyards grown on the clay and limestone hills of the Sannio Beneventano, at over 400 metres above sea level, where a continental climate with strong day-to-night temperature swings preserves the natural aromatic freshness and acidity of the variety. Vinification takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature to retain all the vibrant varietal aromas intact.

The result is a white of immediate pleasure and surprising complexity: bright straw yellow with greenish highlights. On the nose it is lively and inviting — chamomile flowers, white peach, apricot, citrus fruits (lemon, cedar) and a delicate hint of fresh almond. On the palate it is fresh and sapid, with a clean acidity that balances the softness and leads to a persistent, floral and fruity finish. Despite its apparent lightness, it has the structure to stand up to meaningful food pairings far beyond simple aperitivo.

The perfect companion for a long Mediterranean lunch — from Cetara anchovies to pasta with clams — and one of the most characterful and honest white wines in the Emporio Divino selection.
