The Ruffo family has lived in San Briccio since 1627, if not even earlier, but it is only from the end of the nineteenth century that there is memory, from the stories of the ancestors, of the cultivation of the vine and the production of wine. The certain history, however, begins in the mid-60s of the twentieth century when Ernesto, born in 1936, helped by an uncle who was an expert vine grower and winemaker, decides to begin the adventure of a wine artisan hobbyist. Thanks to the passion, study, tests and planting of the first ‘modern’ vineyard, Ernesto undertakes this amateur path and, given the success achieved, transforms it into a small business in the mid-90s which then becomes a wine company founding Ernesto Ruffo Vino, together with his son Leonardo, in the early 2000s.
