Lugana - Tenuta Corbari

The Lugana DOC by Tenuta Corbari is born on the southern shores of Lake Garda, in that slender strip of land between Lombardy and Veneto where the Turbiana grape — also known as Trebbiano di Lugana — finds the ideal soil and climate conditions to express its most authentic and complex personality.

Tenuta Corbari is an agricultural estate deeply rooted in the territory of Pozzolengo, in the Brescia province, where the clay and calcareous soils of lacustrine origin — particularly rich in minerals, with a compact structure that retains moisture during dry seasons — give the Turbiana a structure and sapidity well above the appellation average. The vineyards are tended with artisan care, favouring contained yields that guarantee optimal grape concentration.

Vinification takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature, with ageing on fine lees that enriches the wine's aromatic complexity without altering its varietal freshness. The result is a Lugana of character: bright straw yellow with golden highlights. On the nose it is elegant and inviting — wildflowers, fresh almond, white peach, cedar, a hint of saffron and a characteristic chalky mineral note that is the signature of the finest Lugana on clay soils. On the palate it is sapid and structured, with a well-balanced acidity and a long, persistent finish with notes of almond and citrus.

Unlike many northern Italian whites, Corbari's Lugana has the structure to evolve positively in bottle for 3 to 5 years, gaining depth and complexity with time. One of the most complete and versatile white wines in the Emporio Divino selection.
