Amarone della Valpolicella Classico - Quintarelli
The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG by Giuseppe Quintarelli is widely considered one of the greatest wines in Italy and among the most coveted collector wines in the world. Produced in numbered bottles from the cellar that wrote the history of Valpolicella in Negrar, it is born from Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Negrara and Oseleta grapes farmed with rigorous traditional methods. The appassimento lasts over 4 months on the drying racks, and the wine ages for years in large Slavonian oak barrels before release — often 8 to 10 years after the harvest.
On the nose it offers an extraordinarily complex bouquet that continues to evolve for hours in the glass: black cherry preserve, dark chocolate, Kentucky tobacco, leather, china bark, oriental spice, dried violet and a deep minerality recalling the limestone soils of Negrar. On the palate it is monumental — tannins that have become pure velvet, a perfectly balanced glyceric sweetness, vibrant acidity and a finish that lasts well over two minutes. A wine to cellar for years or to open on occasions that truly deserve the very best. Available in very limited quantities.
