Monte dei Ragni tends its vineyards on the calcareous-clay soils of the Fumane hills, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica, where Corvina Veronese — the flagship variety of the appellation — finds the ideal conditions to express its full aromatic complexity and natural elegance. Biodynamic viticulture, which foregoes all synthetic chemical treatments and works in harmony with lunar and seasonal cycles, ensures a soil vitality and plant health that are reflected in grapes of exceptional quality.
The Ripasso method — an ancient Valpolicella tradition — involves refermentation of the base Valpolicella wine on the still-fresh, yeast-rich pomace of the freshly pressed Amarone, gaining structure, body and an aromatic complexity that brings it close to the great dried-grape wines without losing the drinkability and freshness typical of the Classico style. The result is a wine of extraordinary depth for its category: deep ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose it is rich and articulate — ripe and preserved cherry, blackberry, warm spice, cacao, light tobacco, Veronese aromatic herbs and a balsamic note recalling Mediterranean scrubland.
