Corte Canella's Valpolicella DOC Asante is the most immediate and approachable wine from a winery that produces some of Verona's most complex and sought-after wines - Soave Classico, the rare Recioto "Vitefà", and the outstanding Amarone. Seeing Corte Canella also offer a fresh, everyday Valpolicella confirms a complete winemaking vision: Verona in all its nuances, from a light white to a red made from dried grapes, with the same artisanal integrity that distinguishes every bottle.
The name "Asante" - which simply means "thank you" in Swahili - conveys the soul of this wine: an act of gratitude toward the land, toward the Veronese area that year after year offers its finest grapes, and toward those who choose to drink it and appreciate its authentic simplicity. This is not a wine that wants to amaze or compete with Amarone - it is a wine that wants to be enjoyed, shared at the table, and consumed without ceremony on evenings spent with company.
Made from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes from the estate vineyards in the Soave-Valpolicella area of Verona, it is vinified with a short fermentation and aged in steel to preserve all its freshness and varietal fragrance. The nose is fragrant and clean: fresh cherry, raspberry, young blackberry, red flowers, and a delicate herbal hint typical of Corvina. On the palate, it is light and juicy, with almost imperceptible tannins and lively acidity that makes it extremely pleasant to drink even slightly chilled. A Valpolicella that says thank you through simplicity.
