Eugenio Rosi's Vallagarina IGT Cabernet Franc is one of those wines you will not find in supermarkets or ordinary wine shops - it is the fruit of a radical artisanal vision, that of a producer who has chosen to do less in order to do better, working a few hectares in Trentino's Vallagarina with an almost obsessive care for the terroir and grape variety.

Eugenio Rosi is considered by many critics and enthusiasts to be one of Trentino's most authentic and courageous vignerons: he does not follow trends or seek easy approval, working naturally in the vineyard and with minimal intervention in the cellar. His wines can often be disconcerting at first - they require attention, time in the glass, and a certain open-mindedness - but those who understand them can no longer do without them.

Cabernet Franc is the ideal grape variety for this approach: more subtle and nervy than Cabernet Sauvignon, capable of expressing the characteristics of the soil and climate with great precision. In Vallagarina, on alluvial and morainic soils with a strong gravel component, Rosi's Cabernet Franc develops a unique personality: a luminous, medium-intensity ruby color. On the nose, it is elegant and complex - ripe red bell pepper, redcurrant, violet, aromatic herbs (thyme, sage), graphite, and an underlying ferrous minerality. On the palate, it is lean and fresh, with fine, almost imperceptible tannins and acidity that makes it easy to drink despite its complexity. Long, herbaceous, precise finish.

A wine for those who know that great wines do not always bear the most famous designations.

Vinificazione
