A Lugana born from the Ghiraldi family's oldest vineyards, in the Lugana cru from Sirmione.

The Sant'Onorata estate has belonged to the Ghiraldi family since 1953 and is located in an entirely clay-rich area, where Turbiana has been cultivated for generations. The vines vary in age, but for this Lugana, grapes are selected from vines that are more than 60 years.

These are distinctive vineyards, where old Turbiana clones are used and yields are kept very low. In the oldest vineyards, production drops to around 8 tons per hectare, allowing the Ghiraldi family to select the grapes destined for Sant'Onorata.

The grapes are harvested toward the end of October, when they have reached slight over-ripeness and particularly high concentration.

In the cellar, the wine matures at least one year in stainless steel, before continuing its evolution in the bottle.

The result is a Lugana designed to have great depth and the ability to evolve over time, with elegant minerality and aromatic complexity that develops with bottle aging.

On the nose, it is delicate yet precise - white flowers, fresh almond, nectarine, citrus, cedar, and a distinctive chalky, saline mineral note that is the hallmark of the finest Lugana wines grown on the clay soils of the lower Garda area. On the palate, it is fresh and savory, with a slightly creamy texture imparted by aging on the lees, lovely natural acidity, and a clean, persistent finish with notes of almond and citrus.
